Delhi Capitals cricket bats and other equipment stolen worth INR 16 lakh in transit

The cricket equipment of IPL franchise Delhi Capitals was reportedly lost while on its way from Bengaluru to Delhi. David Warner’s DC have lost all their five matches in the tournament and their latest defeat came against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bengaluru. DC has lost cricket equipment worth Rs 16 lakh and the players came to know about it when they reached Delhi.

DC played against RCB on 15 April and traveled home after the game. Notably, as per a report in Indian Express, 16 bats have been lost, of which five are of Yash Dhull, three of Phil Salt, three of David Warner and two of Mitchell Marsh. Apart from this, other equipment like pads, Thai pads, shoes and gloves were also missing. The players found their luggage missing on their arrival in Delhi and their luggage was delivered to their rooms.

“They were all shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something from their kit bags. This is the first time this has happened and the matter was soon taken up with the logistics department, police and later at the airport. Investigation is on,” A DC source was quoted as saying by the Indian Express. A complaint has been made on the issue and the players have been asked to provide details.

Airport DCP Devesh Kumar Mehta told Express, “Our duty officer asked him to write a complaint with all the details and gave him a paper. He said he will get all the details and file a complaint. Appropriate legal action will be taken.” Will go.” ,

Delhi Capitals’ next match will be against Kolkata Knight Riders in Delhi on Thursday. He practiced for the game despite losing equipment. Notably, Delhi Capitals have lost all five games this season. They are the only team without a win under their belt and sit at the bottom of the points table.
