IPL 2023: Once Struggled For Money, Rinku Singh Aims To Help Poverty-Stricken Cricketers

The family background of Kolkata Knight Riders star Rinku Singh is no longer a mystery to any cricket fan. Rinku comes from a humble background. His father used to deliver LPG cylinders and due to this his childhood went through a financial crisis. Cricket meant the world to Rinku and her determination and perseverance now sees her living her dream life.

Kings XI Punjab, now known as Punjab Kings, bought Rinku ahead of IPL 2017 at his base price of Rs 10 lakhs. Rinku took a big leap in the next season as this player was bought by KKR for Rs 80 lakhs. Since then he has remained a part of the franchise.

As Rinku is well settled, she now aims to make life better for other aspiring cricketers. He begins his mission by helping budding cricketers who are struggling with poverty.

Rinku is giving around 50 lakh rupees for the construction of a hostel in Aligarh, which will provide services to poor cricketers at a nominal cost. The New Indian Express,

As the hostel is being constructed on the land of Aligarh Cricket School and Academy spread over 15 acres owned by the district association, the new facility will also save time for cricket aspirants.

Masoodaj-Zafar Amini said, “He (Rinku Singh) always wanted to build a hostel for young sportspersons who do not have the financial resources to fulfill their dreams.
