MI vs KKR: Fan’s ‘Nostradamus’ Tweet Predicting Venkatesh Iyer’s Century Is Viral

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) witnessed a historic day in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Sunday, with Venkatesh Iyer scoring a century. It was the first time in almost 15 years that a KKR player had scored a century in the IPL, with Brendon McCullum being the last, having done so in the inaugural edition of the T20 league in the very first match. While predicting a KKR player to score a century is a tough ask considering the 15-year drought, one fan had almost accurately predicted what Sunday’s match would bring.

In a tweet that is going viral on social media, a fan almost accurately predicted that Venkatesh would score a hundred in 51 balls. Although the KKR all-rounder’s century came in 49 balls, he eventually scored 104 off 51 balls.

Here’s the tweet:

The fan said, “Bold prediction for today’s match. Venkatesh Iyer will get his maiden T20 century in just 51 balls.”

Speaking about his performance after the match, Iyer said: “Would have been happy if we had finished on the winning side but happy with my performance. They have shown faith in me and it’s a very beautiful wicket to bat on.” Was. Once you get those 30-40 runs, it matters how you continue. Both their new bowlers were swing bowlers and when you let the swing bowlers settle down, it can be a problem So I used my legs, went deep into the crease. It’s about how you maneuver once the ball stops swinging. I keep getting hit here and there every game.

Thought of walking out but my coach and players urged me to continue. I think we could have scored 15-20 runs short. But considering how MI were going, they would have chased it down in the next over anyway. But his death bowling was very good. If we see his last three-four overs, he did not give away many runs. Credit to them.”

Despite Iyer’s ton, KKR could not seal a win, with Mumbai Indians taking two points from the match, courtesy a 5-wicket win with 2.2 overs to spare.
