IPL 2023: RR vs LSG, today’s match prediction – In the 26th match of IPL 2023, Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals will face KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The two teams with strong attacks, the top two teams in the points table will play each other in their respective matches. IPL returns to Jaipur after four years for the sixth match. Let’s see how these two fare against each other.
RR are looking like a team to beat
Rajasthan has performed brilliantly in all the five matches played so far. Their top four have scored runs with Shimron Hetmyer providing the finishing touches. RR’s bowling is led by Yuzvendra Chahal, who is the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Trent Boult is striking well in the first over and Sandeep Sharma has bowled well in the death overs.
RR’s famous spin trio of Zampa, Chahal and Ashwin have played together only twice and they threaten the opposition attack. In the first such instance against CSK, he bowled 12 overs, conceded 95 runs and took five wickets. In the next game against GT, they conceded 105 runs in 12 overs, a game in which Rashid Khan hit 46 runs in his fours.
The power of LSG in the middle order
While RR likes to go big from the outset, LSG finds itself getting hit more in the latter part of the innings. Their top four – Mayer, Rahul, Krunal and Hooda – struck at 126.01, compared to 149.21 for the Royals’ top four.
LSG’s middle order has carried them well in the last few matches, with batsmen like Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni doing well. From No. 5 to No. 8, LSG hit 167 while RR strike closer to 160. Rahul’s team was led by Mark Wood in the bowling department with 11 wickets in four matches.
pitch and weather report
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium pitch is conducive to chasing. RR has hosted 47 games here and the teams batting first have won only 15 times. The surface is bowler friendly and the pitch being used for this game looks a bit dry on the bottom which can give a good turn. Here the dimensions of the land are large.
It is expected to be cloudy in the evening in Rajasthan. There is barely a 3% chance of rain in the evening but we should get a full game.
Best Batsman:
Jos Buttler – RR opener Buttler has batted well at the venue. He averages 54.25 and strikes 143. Buttler has also scored four fifties here and could be a player to watch.
Best Bowler:
Ravi Ashwin – LSG has a couple of left-handed batsmen and Ashwin can be a threat in front of them. Kyle Mayer and Nicholas Pooran have struggled against off-spinners and Ashwin will be eager to capitalize on it.
Match Winner Prediction: Rajasthan Royals (RR)
