Updated IPL 2023 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap List After GT vs RR Match: Rajasthan Consolidate Top Spot

Rajasthan Royals defeated Gujarat Titans by three wickets in their Indian Premier League match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday. Asked to bat first, Gujarat Titans scored 177 runs for seven wickets. In-form Shubman Gill scored 45 off 34 balls at the top of the order, while David Miller scored 46 off 30 balls. Abhinav Manohar played a quick inning of 27 runs in 13 balls. In reply, RR completed the task in 19.2 overs. RR skipper Sanju Samson smashed a 32-ball 60 while Shimron Hetmyer smashed an unbeaten 26-ball 56. Mohammed Shami took three wickets for GT but failed to avoid defeat for his side.

With the win on Sunday, RR consolidated the top spot in the table with 8 points from 5 matches. They are now two points ahead of second-placed Lucknow Super Giants, who have also played 5 matches.

Orange Cap:

Venkatesh Iyer scored his maiden IPL century on Sunday and it helped him regain the top spot in the list of leading run-scorers. At the same time, Shikhar Dhawan slipped to second place. Shubman Gill moved up to the third spot while David Warner and Virat Kohli slipped to the fourth and fifth spots respectively.

Purple Cap:

Yuzvendra Chahal on Sunday regained the top spot in the list of leading wicket-takers after dismissing Hardik Pandya. Meanwhile, Mark Wood had slipped to second place. Rashid Khan remains at the third spot after taking two wickets against RR, while Mohammed Shami has moved up to the fourth spot after taking 3 for 25 in the same match.
